Thursday Night Body Count

  • Nine people were shot and two people died across the city Thursday night -- eight of them in a two-and-a-half hour window between about 4:10 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.

The media has been narrowing down the shootings to certain two-hour-windows. Gee, do you think they might be timing some of this to shift change? Or prior to the massive deployment closer to sundown?

Somebody better deputize McSkilling to bring on the weekend rain as early as possible. We haven't sat down with a pencil and paper, but this comment appeared earlier:

  • Totals from Friday thru July 4th 11:59 PM:
Total People shot is 81 including 17 Murders...
Where is the front page story on this?
How many conflicts did Cease Fire "Interrupt"?
What a waste of funding when we could have used that Million+ money to hit more Police!

Add in Thursday evening and we're up to around 90 shot with 19 dead in a mere 6 days. This is probably going to go down as the worst 7 day period in quite a few years, though we doubt the Department will want to brag about it.

That CompStat stuff is working wonders!

And if we had over one hundred shootings, that must mean that CeaseFire interrupted what? A thousand shootings maybe? And saved how many lives? Those guys are amazing!!! Rahm should give them another million fucking dollars!

But I thought giving Ceasefire ONE MILLION was going to stop all this.
Ohh, they spent ( stole) it already. We better give them another MILLION for the fine job they are doing!
They must be honest, they are all democRATS.

Cease fire is a complete joke. Where I grew up it was not a pretty place and the guy who was back then running cease fire in my area used to be laughing at the fact that he posed as a "retired and reformed" gang member, had a legit position with cease fire and ran things for his gang in the streets until he was killed. Gang members think that they can fool others, but sincerely maybe they can fool the politicians but, no one else. Growing up in bad neighborhoods gave me the knowledge that no book, no politician and no statistic can give you. It's a way for these gangs to keep informed,a legit front and still be running things in the streets, period. Giving more into that kind of program is getting the city to pay off gang members. Tougher punishment for gangs is the only way and needed. Holding parents responsible because a lot of them know of their kid's activities.

Rahm and family were at a nice vacation villa provided by a contractor for the city in beautiful Eagle River, Wisconsin. When he heard the Wisconsin Warriors were going to be there - he wanted to know if that was a gang. He found out it was a Drum & Bugle band.

What we really want is the total from Friday, June 29 ending 0001 hrs Monday, July 9.

Over 100 degrees at times during a 10-day period consisting of a weekend, then a full moon Tuesday, July 3, then the Fourth of July, then another hot weekend.

Should be REALLY impressive -- and there will probably be a few extras Monday morning as well.

I'm no sleazefire fan, but get real, $1M does not pay for very many cops. There's a lot more than salary involved, so it's probably 10, 15 at most. Would those 15 cops be a hell of a lot more useful than sleazefire? sure. would 15 more cops solve all the city's problems? fuck no.

Oh, yeah, all I heard is that one of their 16-year-old daughters got into a he-say-she-say, that my Pepsi, pull hair and kick and scream with another teen, and Mama The Paid Professional Violence Interrupter was burning up the wires for police cars to be stationed at her house.

S__t.

Cease fire? Where? In Lake Forest? Not down here where the Walking Dead roam the streets looking for people to devour.

I feel like they are filming the sequel to "Training Day" with Denzel and the ghetto scenes are in front of Water Tower.

scary and God Bless all of you officers out there sweating to death. If I could, I'd invite all of you in to the condo for some air conditioning but I'm sure The Tiny Ballet Dancer would have a heart attack.
